Facet Privacy Policy — Draft

Policy under review. This document describes the current telemetry-enabled internal test version. The items marked “Not yet confirmed” and the review for release to children remain open. This is not yet the privacy policy for a public release.

Effective date: Not yet in effect — draft under review.

Who is responsible for Facet?

WISE IT SRL develops and publishes Facet: Tilt the Board and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy covers the Facet game and information you send directly to our support team. Apple and Google separately describe how they handle information for their stores and testing services. For the publisher website, see WISE IT's website privacy notice.

Children and the current test version

Facet is intended to become a game for children and families, including children under 13. The current pre-release version is intended for adult technical testing. It includes analytics and crash-reporting functionality that has not been approved for distribution to children.

Before a child-directed release, we will update this policy to describe the actual release's collection, service providers and parental choices. This draft does not establish parental consent or claim an exception to children's privacy requirements.

A parent or guardian may contact the privacy address above to ask about information relating to their child, request access or deletion, or ask us to stop further collection or use. See Data and deletion requests. Please do not send a child's name, exact birth date, school, photograph or other personal details in an initial enquiry.

Information stored on your device

Facet stores game progress, settings, level and collection state, and information needed to resume play on your device. It also keeps local gameplay and technical records, and a queue of reports waiting to be sent.

The game creates a random analytics identifier stored with your local profile. It helps associate gameplay reports across sessions. It is not an advertising identifier, but reports associated with it are pseudonymous, not anonymous.

You do not need a Facet account. Core play works offline. Facet does not provide a cross-device cloud-save service. Device or operating-system backups may keep copies of app data under your own backup settings.

Information sent from the current test version

InformationExamplesWhy we use it
Gameplay and progress reportsLevel starts and results, scores, tilt counts, chosen upgrades, gem/board state, tutorial steps and Bench activityFind confusing steps, investigate bugs and evaluate game balance
Session informationApp opens, session identifiers and counts, timestamps, session lengths and return visitsUnderstand how the test version is used and whether players return
Technical informationGame/build and balance versions, device model, graphics configuration, startup time and frame-performance measurementsDiagnose compatibility and performance problems
Gameplay input recordsSequences of swipe directions recorded by test buildsReproduce a reported run; these are game commands, not keyboard input, screen video or microphone recordings
Crash and error informationError messages, stack traces, recent game-operation logs and technical crash informationInvestigate failures and improve stability

The random analytics identifier accompanies analytics reports. Crash reporting is configured through Unity in supported device builds; the information available depends on the reporting service and the failure.

When reports are transmitted over the internet, the receiving service also receives network information such as the connection's IP address. Do not interpret the absence of an IP-address field in a game event as a promise that no service processes network information.

The current game does not ask you for a name, email address or date of birth to play. It does not request access to contacts, the camera, microphone, photo library or precise location. It does not include a real advertising SDK or process real in-app purchases in the current internal test version.

Information you send to support

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer your request and investigate the issue. Please provide only what is needed and remove unrelated personal information from screenshots.

Our email/support provider is not yet confirmed in this draft.

Who processes the information?

  • PostHog receives the gameplay, session and performance reports described above. Facet uses its EU ingestion endpoint. See PostHog's privacy information.
  • Unity provides the game engine and configured crash-reporting functionality. See Unity's game-player privacy information.
  • Our email/support provider processes the correspondence you send us.

We do not use the current test version to sell personal information or serve personalised advertising. Information may also need to be disclosed when required by law or to respond to a valid legal request.

The provider links explain those companies' practices; they do not replace our responsibility to explain Facet's actual collection. EU ingestion alone does not mean every provider activity takes place in the EU.

Processing locations and applicable international-transfer safeguards: Not yet confirmed — under review.

Legal bases for processing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the basis must match each purpose and the people using that version of the game. The bases for gameplay analytics, crash reporting, support correspondence and any legally required retention are not yet confirmed and remain under review.

A download, continued use, a device tracking-permission setting or a parental gate is not treated by this draft as consent to every form of collection.

How long is information kept?

Local progress and settings remain until reset or removed with the app's data, subject to device backups. Pending analytics reports are removed from the upload queue after confirmed delivery, or when the queue's capacity requires older entries to be discarded. A separate local diagnostic log may remain.

The specific retention periods and deletion arrangements for remote records are:

RecordRetention and deletion rule
PostHog gameplay, session and performance recordsNot yet confirmed — under review.
Unity crash/error recordsNot yet confirmed — under review.
Support correspondence and attachmentsNot yet confirmed — under review.
Provider backups, local diagnostic logs and exceptional legal holdsNot yet confirmed — under review.

Your choices and requests

Reset game progress: use Settings → Delete Local Data, then confirm DELETE. This resets the local profile and settings. It does not delete reports already uploaded, and it does not clear all local diagnostic files or pending reports.

Remove app data: use your device's app-deletion controls. On iOS, offloading an app preserves its documents and data, so it is different from deleting the app. Removing app data does not delete remote reports or separate device backups.

Request access or deletion: contact contact@wiseit.ro. We can explain what information we hold, assess a request to access, correct or delete it, and help parents or guardians make requests. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object, receive portable data, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, or complain to a data-protection authority.

We may need limited additional information to locate the relevant records and verify that a request is yours. Facet does not link a player profile to an email account, so an email address alone may not identify gameplay records. We will explain any limitation rather than claim that unidentified records were deleted.

The current test version has no in-game analytics opt-out. Playing offline can delay reporting; it does not prevent queued reports from being sent later. Contact us before continuing a test if you need reporting to stop.

Security

Analytics uploads use HTTPS. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure. Do not include passwords, payment-card details or other unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

Changes to this policy

We will update the effective date when this policy changes. Before changing collection in a way that requires additional notice or permission, we will provide the applicable notice and obtain any required permission.
